B.Pharm

About Department

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharm) is a four year undergraduate degree in pharmaceutical sciences.  B.Pharm course includes various departments and subjects that covers a wide range of pharmaceutical sciences students study subjects such as Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy ,Medicinal chemistry, Biochemistry. The course curriculum includes theory, practicals and projects providing a comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical science. Pharmaceutics is concerned with the strategies by which biologically active compounds are presented to the body so as to elicit an optimal response. The department of Pharmaceutics & Pharmaceutical Technology offers the students the opportunity to learn basic principles of pharmaceutics up to the level of novel drug delivery systems. The department of Pharmacology is an integrative and interdisciplinary science that takes a dynamic approach to investigate the actions of chemical agents on living systems. Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is comprised of two branches whereby the first, Medicinal chemistry covers the aspects of new drug discoveries and development, drug structure relation Activity, QSAR and the second, Pharmaceutical Analysis cover the UV analysis, IR spectra, NMR study, Mass spectroscopy, Chromatography which help to analysis of raw materials as well as finished products. Pharmacognosy pertains to disseminating the knowledge of medicinal plants and their use for various diseases. The department provides the basic concept of pharmacognosy to the production of pharmaceutical raw materials from natural sources, chemical analysis, phytotherapy and phytochemical screening of plants.

VISION

Continuously seek excellence in Pharmaceutical education, research and the development of dedicated healthcare professionals. We focus on preparing students with both technical skills and strong ethical foundations, aligning education with industry needs and societal benefit.

MISSION

To generate globally competent health care professionals, striving towards excellence through a benchmark system by fostering multifarious quality education in the heritage of pharmacy. To provide a comprehensive and progressive education that prepares pharmacists to assume and do an active role in providing skilled, ethical & compassionate patient care that improve their health and quality of life of residence in all areas. The college achieves its mission by maintaining a community of active and creative scholars devoted to discovery, integration and dissemination of knowledge in clinical and pharmaceutical sciences.

The B Pharm laboratories are equipped with various facilities and instruments to support practical learning and research. These include Pharmaceutics laboratory with equipment such as an autoclave, hot air oven, BOD incubator, high pressure gas burners, double distillation assembly, and sieve shaker. The Aseptic Room  is a room featuring a laminar flow workstation, filtration module, garment cabinet, three door interlocking, epoxy wall painting, and flooring.

In the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory, we perform the experiments like identification of organic & inorganic compounds, synthesis of organic compounds, purification and qualitative as well as quantitative analysis of it by performing chemical tests and using different sophisticated instruments. The Pharmacognosy Laboratory provides esteemed knowledge and utilization of medicinal substances of biological origin (plant, microorganism and animal products) used for treatment of various diseases. This laboratory provides practical training on morphological, microscopic, physical and chemical evaluation of crude drugs as well as herbal formulations.
